Frequently asked questions

Getting started

Go to the Get started page, pick a plan and check out. You will then be asked to send your logo, photographs of your work and your services, and we start building.

About two days from the point we have your information, then review and revisions, then launch on the day you approve it.

No. We write the copy for every page based on a conversation about your services and area. You review it and tell us what to change.

We can build without them and use licensed stock imagery instead. Photographs of your own work always perform better, so send anything you have, including images from a previous website.

Pricing and billing

Correct. No build fee and no setup fee. The monthly price covers the build, hosting and updates. Only genuinely custom development is quoted separately, and always before work starts.

On the day you sign up. It renews monthly on that date, and you can cancel before any renewal.

No. It is month to month. Cancel before your next renewal and nothing further is charged.

Not while you stay on your plan. If we change pricing for new customers, existing customers keep the rate they joined on.

Your domain registration, which is usually fifteen to twenty dollars a year paid to the registrar in your name. Optional stock photography, and any third party software with its own subscription.

Updates and support

Text, prices, services, photographs, hours and new pages within your plan size are all included, as long as requests are not excessive, which we treat as more than ten a month.

Most are done the same day or the next working day. Urgent changes such as closing unexpectedly are prioritized.

Just email us at hello@sdwebsites.com.

You do not need to, and most owners would rather not. If you want direct access to make small edits we can arrange it.

We are alerted automatically and usually have it back before you notice. Daily backups mean we can restore quickly if needed.

Ownership and technical

You do. If you have one it stays in your name. If you need one we register it in your name, not ours.

You do. Your text, your photographs and your logo remain yours throughout and after.

Your domain stays yours and we provide an export of your content and images. Because hosting is part of the plan, the hosted site comes down when the plan ends.

Yes. Email on your domain is unaffected by moving the website, and we take care not to disturb those records during the switch.

Yes. We redirect your old page addresses to the matching new ones so existing links and search results do not break.

We build on whatever suits the project, favouring fast static builds for standard local business sites because they load quicker and have far less to break or exploit.

Search and results

No, and nobody can. Anyone promising a specific position is selling something they do not control. We build the parts we do control properly: structure, speed, content and location signals.

Search visibility builds over months rather than days. A new site is usually indexed within a week or two, with meaningful local visibility developing over the following months.

We do not manage paid advertising. We focus on the website and the organic local search work around it.
